Mom was selling her house, the house we’d grown up in, me and my five siblings. The ceiling panel above the bar, two from the wall, was stuck in the aluminum frame, as if someone had glued it in place. ~I still had to deal with the ceiling panel with my fingerholes in it. Flo and I picked up the displaced ceiling panel and worked to wedge it back into place, like pushing against a full-blast firehose. As soon as Flo and I forced the ceiling panel back in place, the hellish fire hole was gone, all the monsters trapped on the other side.
