We definitely have entered a day & age where we’re now tiptoeing around people’s feelings, which has led to the increased celebration of simple participation. The NFL & NBA have made playing defense a nearly impossible task with its rules changes designed to increase and promote scoring. Society is on a mission to not offend anyone that is effectively handicapping the spirit of sport and the fundamental lessons it can teach. Coaches can no longer rule with an iron fist…they’ve now been relegated to doing so with pillowcases filled with feathers.
