We are a small paving contractor. We have worked with the York Region on small road repairs for over 25 Years. After this third party safety procedures was implemented, we can no longer bid on these small works. Just not a enough money in the job unless you are already working for the Region of York on bigger jobs. This is a total money grab by companies which are not Canadian. These bigger contractors know this and are seriously taking advantage of it, and raping the Region of York or should I say "Tax Payers" money. One day when Attorney General Steps in to Audit York Region they will see the inconsistencies of the price hikes over the last couple of years. No one will get blamed, just that this part of their required safety. So you Big Contractors out there enjoy the Reaps and keep sticking to the Region of York while it lasts.
