Don't know if they can live in the merrimack river but seen something when I worked at a restaurant in methuen mass. In 1984 that was right next to the river never knew what it was but the head was about 3 feet out of the water it dissappear and never saw it again never told anyone until a couple years ago do to seeing a article about the gloucester sea serpent.
