Beaufort - With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Wendy Reynolds, who left us on May 14, 2025, in Beaufort, South Carolina, after a nearly three-year battle with cancer—one she faced with grace, courage, and quiet strength. While our hearts ache, we take comfort knowing Heaven has gained another angel.
Born in Corpus Christi, Texas, on October 11, 1946, Wendy brought warmth and beauty wherever she went. She married the love of her life, David (Boyd) Reynolds, in 1967. Two years later, she earned her degree in fine arts from the University of California, Irvine and welcomed her and Boyd's daughter, Jennifer.
Wendy spent much of her life in Andover, MA, where she ran a successful interior design firm, with her work appearing in esteemed magazines including Traditional Home. In retirement, Wendy and Boyd moved to Beaufort, building a home on "her river," where they entertained friends and found community at St. Helena's Anglican Church.
Wendy's life was defined by beauty and kindness—in the way she dressed, decorated, hosted, and simply loved. She was thoughtful, creative, and always made others feel cherished. She was a true artist: she painted, sewed, wrote and illustrated children's books for her granddaughter, Annabelle, and baked signature pies for loved ones and church families in need.
She is survived by her husband Boyd, daughter, Jennifer (John Larivee), granddaughter Annabelle, sister, Bettye Rainwater, sister-in-law, Priscilla Reynolds, and niece Kate Spatafora.
The family extends special thanks to Friends of Caroline Hospice—especially Jamie, Bailey, Courtney, Audrey, and LaShonda—and to Arms of Love Caregiving's Tiffany and Jessica for their compassionate care and support.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heifer International (www.heifer.org) or the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
Wendy taught us to love and to find beauty in each day. She always will be in our hearts, and we will carry her sparkle with us, always.
