Cancer Research UK for Children and Young People is asking residents to help more children and young people survive cancer for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September. People can show their support by donating or by purchasing a gold ribbon badge from any Cancer Research UK shop. The charity's efforts have made a significant impact on children's cancer survival rates in the UK, which have more than doubled since the 1970s. Today, about eight in 10 children survive for at least a decade after diagnosis. "More than nine in ten children and young people who are prescribed cancer drugs in the UK receive at least one drug that Cancer Research UK has helped to develop.
