The scheme, launched on Tuesday, September 9 to coincide with national 'Know Your Numbers' Week, is open to all Essex residents aged 18 and over, without the need for a GP referral.

"This scheme makes it easy and convenient for people who may be worried about their blood pressure to check their numbers, without having to book a GP appointment."
Dr Allan Smith from Abbeyfield Practice in Colchester said: "Early detection of high blood pressure really can save lives and I would strongly urge everyone to make good use of this resource."
