KVMR 89.5 FM broadcaster Kim Rogers notoriously makes a big deal out of her birthday each year. So this year she’s volunteered to make a big deal out of the Nevada City radio station’s 36th birthday, too..“We should always have a birthday party for the station,” claimed Rogers, host of the weekly “Good Stuff” program, Thursdays 2-4 p.m. (89.5 FM, kvmr.org streaming). “It’s a way to bring the KVMR community together.”The result is a free KVMR Birthday Potluck BBQ Acoustic Jam & Singalong, Sunday, July 20, 1-7 p.m. in the picnic areas by the creek in Pioneer Park, Nevada City. “That one has to run on a schedule, but this birthday party can be a more relaxed social atmosphere.”As producer for the event, Rogers gathered up a number of KVMR volunteers to help out with the party. “You should bring a potluck dish or something to barbeque if you wish, bring your instruments, bring chairs,” Kim explained.
