Once again, KVMR 89.5 FM and the Miner’s Foundry will present the annual King Day Gospel Concert, beginning at noon Monday(Jan. 19) at the Foundry, 325 Spring Street in downtown Nevada City. The Bethel choir will be there in force, featuring longtime director Zenobia Brown and a variety of soloists. “We’ve been singing it for a long time, and we’ve still got to sing it,” one three-decade Bethel choir member explained. Emery credits both KVMR volunteers and the Miner’s Foundry, which donates its facilities for the occasion, for the “enduring tenure” of the concert. The non-commercial radio station also continues its daylong King Day celebration with special programming before and after the concert.
