Earlier this week, KVMR 89.5 FM engineering intern Ron Baldwin was busy working on a computer system to archive the community radio station’s programs when some replacement compact disc players arrived. Since the station’s been having some problems with its new CD player inventory, priorities immediately changed for Ron. “I’m definitely not just sitting around, ” quipped Baldwin, who calls the internship at the non-commercial Nevada City station “pretty hectic and interesting.”And, he recalls, it certainly started out that way. “It’s a real treat to work with him.”According to Baldwin, he’s glad to have Barnett as his mentor. Other KVMR interns will be working in the music and business departments at the eclectic station, according to KVMR Volunteer Coordinator Edy Cassell.
