Where other broadcasters have been teachers, accountants, visual artists and so forth, Pruitt has literally lived his entire life in radio. The road first took him to radio jobs in Tracy and Truckee before he got his big break. Newgrass, jam bands, roots music started being accepted in the traditional, often conservative bluegrass world. Like Roy Rogers, who will be Pruitt’s guest this coming Monday on the FAT Music Show (1 p.m., 89.5 FM, kvmr.org streaming). And that’s good radio, they say.
