It isn’t every day kids and teens between the ages of 10 and 18 can find something that’s “free, fun and you learn something, too.”At least that’s one way that Celtic Festival Youth Arts Program coordinator Laurie DesJardin likes to describe the workshops and classes that take place just before the actual Festival itself — this year, it’s late afternoon Friday, September 30th. “These free sessions provide a hands-on approach to various Celtic art forms,” she says. “And they can be an invaluable introduction to the topics.”The 50 minute workshops take place at 3:45, 4:45 and 5:45 p.m. that afternoon. Veteran dancer and instructor Melissa O’Sullivan returns as well to this year’s arts program with her Irish Step Dancing workshop at5:45 p.m. only.
