On the weekend before Thanksgiving, it was a unique way for KVMR 89.5 FM to say thanks to some of its supporters. “It’s truly a legendary mine, the oldest operating hard rock gold mine around,” KVMR membership director Adriana Kelly says. Over 15% of the fall drive donors are new KVMR members, a good number opting for the mine tour. “And now more than ever, independent media like KVMR is needed.”Which brings up Giving Tuesday (next Tuesday, November 29). “It’s becoming a more important month every year to support the arts, charities and other non-profits.”So giving thanks in November to listener/supporters may just lead to getting some thanks in December?
