https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZ8GZ3PFVGMNext Wednesday, July 31 on my show Dawn Eclectica I will set the time machine back 54 years and play songs that were topping the charts on July 31, 1965. It was a strange time- the war in Vietnam was rising to the American consciousness, the Beatles had turned the world of popular music upside down and young people were starting to question their parents’ rigid conventions. In many ways, 1965 was the overture to the Summer of Love and Woodstock. Not to mention a heart-rending duet by Willie Nelson and his daughter Paula doing “Who’ll Stop the Rain,” a fitting song for the times we live in. Tune in next Wednesday from 4-7 am, or stream it on demand by clicking on archive.kvmr.org and scrolling down to Dawn Eclectica.
