Kenneth "Casey" Charles Jones, born February 27th, 1952, in Miami, Florida, to Patricia Thorn Jones and Kenneth Leroy Jones, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 18th, 2025, at the age of 72 in Mineola, Texas.
Ken graduated from the University of North Texas and enjoyed a fulfilling career in accounting. He had a passion for flying RC planes, likely inspired by his pilot father, and a deep love for animals, both wild and domestic. He cherished his red C5 Corvette, found joy in tending to flowers and was an avid coin collector. Ken also enjoyed watching Hallmark movies, indulging in sweets, napping on his days off with his dogs by his side, and running errands for his wife. He was deeply intelligent, kind and had a great sense of humor.
Ken is survived by his loving wife, Dian Jones of Tyler, TX; his stepdaughter Susan Layton and her husband Mark of Brookeland, TX; his grandchildren, Kennedy Ballow of Tyler, TX, and Atlas Wolfheart of Gurnee, IL; his sisters, Patricia Quinnelly and her husband Richard of Bradenton, FL, and Pamela Wallace and her husband Bill of Port Orange, FL; and his great-grandchildren, Elijah McCullough and Juniper Enge of Tyler, TX.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Patricia and Kenneth Leroy Jones; his sister Priscilla Jones; and his stepson Kyle Fitzgerald. Kenneth will be remembered for his gentle spirit and unwavering love for his family.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The East Texas Arboretum & Friends of The Animals at Cedar Creek Lake.
Memorial service will be held at The East Texas Arboretum on March 9th at 2 p.m.
