Graveside services for Inez Rampy Allen, 93, of Malakoff, are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Malakoff Cemetery, with Kay Pulley and Gerald Carter officiating.
Our beloved mother and grandmother went to her heavenly home peacefully on February 25, 2025.
Inez Catherine (Rampy) Allen was born on May 9, 1931, in Cayuga, Texas, to Adam Cone Rampy and Margaret Catherine (Hughes) Rampy. She was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Malakoff and retired as a tax assessor/collector.
During her 29-year career with Malakoff ISD, she served as library aide, sponsored the library club, served as secretary to the superintendent, ultimately spending the majority of her career serving the Malakoff school system as the Tax Assessor-collector and retired in the early 2000's.
She loved reading, particularly her Bible, which she read faithfully. Inez also had a passion for yard work and enjoyed cooking for her family, cherishing the time spent with those who affectionately called her "Nannie."
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 49 years, Ernest Earl Allen; three siblings, Alvin Rampy, Harold Rampy, and Marsha LeGard; and her loving daughter-in-law, Diana Allen.
Survivors include her children, Larry Allen of Malakoff and Janie Craig and husband Tom of Tyler and her grandchildren, Michelle Allen, David Allen and wife Stacey, and Shelby Craig, and sister-in-laws Blanche Trammel, Virginia Coook, and Shirley Rampy.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Tanner, Bill Faulk, David Allen, Stanly LeGard, Raymond Ramsey, Elvis Allen, and Tom Craig.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
