Charlotte Anne (Zimmerman) Moellenbeck December 20, 1937 - February 6, 2025 Charlotte Moellenbeck of Athens, Texas, a devoted wife, mother, nurse, and cherished community member, passed away peacefully at home. Born in Toledo, Ohio, she enriched the lives of all who knew her with her intelligence, creativity, and generous spirit. Charlotte was the loving wife of Albert, with whom she shared 64 years of marriage, and the proud mother of four children—Albert, Mary Kuehner, Cheryl Tallman, and Joanie Ahlers. She was a nurturing force in her family, always ready with a kind word, a delicious meal, or a supportive cheer at sporting events. Her legacy lives on through her husband, 4 children,10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and the fond memories of family and friends. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Joanne Pottenger of Tyler. She is joining her granddaughter, Josephine, in heaven. A woman of many talents, Charlotte balanced raising four children with earning her nursing degree—a testament to her determination and strength. As her family moved across the country to support her husband's career in the nuclear power industry—from Sacramento and San Jose, CA; Grosse Ile, MI, Wyckoff, NJ; Santa Fe, NM; Los Alamos, NM; and Petoskey, MI and finally settling in Athens, TX—she transformed every house into a warm and inviting home. An excellent cook, her legendary rum cakes, fruit salad, and potluck dishes brought family, friends, neighbors, and clients together for many joyful parties and gatherings. She passed on her love of cooking to her children, ensuring that her culinary legacy would continue. Charlotte's creativity extended beyond the kitchen. With a keen eye for decorating—always favoring the color blue—and a passion for crafting, she sewed clothes for her children in their early years and later delighted in needlework, beadwork, and diamond dotting. Her handcrafted framed pieces now adorn the homes of her loved ones. After her children left home, Charlotte embraced a new passion by breeding and showing champion Bichon Frise show dogs. Her excellence in this endeavor was recognized through many years of dedicated service as Secretary of the Bichon Club of America. In addition, she devoted her time to volunteer work at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church and actively supporting her children's school systems including serving on the Wyckoff Board of Education. Charlotte's generosity and kind spirit touched many lives. Whether through mentoring, volunteer work, or countless acts of kindness, she gave selflessly to her children and their families, her community and to charitable causes. Her contributions will be remembered and cherished by all whose lives she enriched. Charlotte's legacy is one of love, resilience, and creativity. She leaves behind a world that is forever brighter for having known her. A celebration of life with family and friends will be held on March 29 at the St. Boniface Catholic Church with a reception to follow at the family's home 6605 FM 1803 in Athens, Texas.
