Services for Chester Thomas Jackson, 95 of Brownsboro are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday May 17, 2025, at New Hope Methodist Church with Dr. Herb Marlow officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday evening from 5-7 P.M. at Autry's Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home. Mr. Jackson passed away May 12, 2025, in Chandler. He was born July 28, 1929, in Brownsboro to the late Earl Ansley and Velma Debnam Jackson. Following graduation from Brownsboro High School in 1947 he became employed as a pipe liner working across the continental United States, Alaska and overseas. He was a side boom operator and loved his job. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers for 75 years. He was a member of the Brownsboro Masonic Lodge for greater than 50 years. Chester was drafted into the United States Marines during the Korean War and served for 2 years stationed at Camp Pendleton and Moffett Field. Following retirement he enjoyed farming, raising cattle and following the Brownsboro basketball teams. He was a life-long member of New Hope Methodist Church where he served in multiple board positions. He married the love of his life, Wanda Jean Asher Jackson, on January 6, 1951, and they were married for 63 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers Tilmer Jackson, John Ward Jackson and sisters Merle Dickson Perry, Gladys Bell and Betty Joyce Mick. He is survived by son Tommy Jackson (Sherry) Farmersville, daughters Donna Swaim (Gary) Tyler, Jo Ann Peters Brownsboro, sister Linda Jean Robertson Malakoff; 5 grandchildren Jeffrey Peters (fiancée Katelynn Moore), Jason Peters (Kristy), Kelly Bustos (Miguel), Paula Herrick (Rob) and Wesley Frizzell. He has four great-grandchildren, Benjamin Bustos, Ally Peters, Trey Herrick and Maddie Herrick and survived by first cousin Foy Magee. The Pallbearers will be Arlen Dickson, Ron Dickson, Keith Robertson, Danny Jackson, Jeffrey Peters, Jason Peters, Miguel Bustos and Wesley Frizzell. Special friends are the remaining members of the Brownsboro Class of 1947, Junior Lewis, Kay Forester and his at-home caregivers Pamela Ross and Georgia Williams Coleman. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to Mrs. Ross, Mrs. Coleman, the staff of Chandler Nursing Center and Hospice of East Texas.
