Still at the tender age of 15, she enrolled in music at the UST Conservatory. Corazon pointed out she had qualified in the junior category of the MSO Youth Concert Soloist audition and played for him. She credits the UST Conservatory janitor with urging her to make this unprecedented move of applying while just in her first year. In 1968, in her 4th year as a piano major, Corazon qualified for the senior category of the MSO Youth Concert Soloist audition. Corazon played her MSO Youth Concert piece: two movements from the Chopin F Minor Concerto.
