"Temporary lights would have caused chaos — this set-up keeps southbound traffic flowing and crews safe." ‌And it added: "Thanks for your patience — we know it’s been a pain, but we’re cracking on and making solid progress!" Works to the bridge are taking place as part of the A435 Cheltenham to Bishop's Cleeve Cycleway and have been described as 'necessary' to repair and strengthen the bridge.
