The A417 in Gloucestershire was closed in both directions following a serious crash this evening (Tuesday, September 23). National Highways said that the A417 was closed between the A419, near Cirencester, and the A436, near Cheltenham. They said: "The #A417 in #Gloucestershire is now closed in both directions between the #A419/ #A429 (near #Cirencester) and the #A436 (near #Cheltenham) following a collision. Gloucestershire Police said in a statement: "Emergency services are currently at the scene of a serious two-vehicle collision on the A417 at Birdlip Hill. "All traffic in both directions is currently being diverted along Old Birdlip Road and motorists are advised to find alternative routes."
