South Eastern Railway (SER) will donate redundant equipment including sleepers and rails to the East Kent Railway (EKR) at Shepherdswell, north of Dover. An EKR spokesperson also said: "The mainline connection is required in south east Kent, as there are few places that mainline registered vehicles can get off the network into stabling points in the local area.
