However, it now seems the Department for Transport (DfT) has intervened in ensuring that demand is being met with the introduction of a new service. The new service is proposed to depart 15 minutes later at 2345, running non-stop from London Paddington to Reading, with it expected to arrive into Reading at 0025. It is also proposed to convert the current 2330 service into a pick-up-passengers-only service at Reading.
