A new article in Lancet Psychiatry debunks past studies claiming that those on low doses of antipsychotics are more likely to relapse. A recent meta-analysis claimed that those on a lower dose of antipsychotics were more likely to relapse than those taking a higher dose. “The meta-analysis by Højlund and colleagues does not account for the possibility that the process of reducing an antipsychotic dose itself, and not a patient merely being on a lower dose, might affect detected relapse rates,” they write.
