As Steve Ballmer and the Los Angeles Clippers insist they did not attempt any salary-cap circumvention related to Kawhi Leonard's endorsement contract, the details around the organization's involvement in Aspiration continue to pile up. On the latest episode of Pablo Torre Finds Out, Pablo Torre reported Ballmer and the Clippers invested $118 million in Aspiration in an 18-month period from September 2021 to March 2023. Torre also noted that April 4 date is the same day that Leonard signed his KL2 Aspire contract worth $28 million. Torre's reporting also includes a screenshot of a February 2022 text message purportedly sent by Dennis Robertson, Leonard's uncle and designated representative on his primary Aspiration contract, to Aspiration co-founder Joe Sanberg. According to Torre, the text is referring to Leonard's $20 million equity deal with Aspiration that was on top of his endorsement contract.
