Amid the tense ongoing negotiations between Jonathan Kuminga and the Golden State Warriors, Kuminga's agent, Aaron Turner, has denied a rumor his client turned down a lucrative extension offer in the summer of 2024. Slater reported in November that the Warriors' offer topped out around $30 million per season. However, Turner said if an offer of five years and $150 million had been presented to them, Kuminga "would have taken that" deal. Turner said on the podcast that if the Warriors changed the team option to a player option, Kuminga would sign the deal. He also explained his client is prepared to play on the one-year qualifying offer worth $7.9 million if Golden State's offer doesn't change.
