MLB revealed that digital tickets to games have been stolen from fans on the Ballpark app, which is used by all 30 teams, and resold on other platforms. "The Ballpark app is operating properly and continues to process tickets for millions of fans who attend MLB games," MLB said in the statement, via Evan Drellich of The Athletic. Bad actors then have utilized leaked or stolen credentials from other websites in efforts to access the accounts of MLB fans. Issues with external scams targeting Ballpark app passwords started around Labor Day and have persisted since, per Drellich. In April 2023, MLB.com's David Adler reported that 99.5 percent of fans using the app successfully retrieved their tickets during the 2022 season.
