Cameras caught UAB football head coach (and former NFL quarterback) Trent Dilfer using his cell phone before his team's 56-24 road loss at Tennessee on Saturday. Dilfer's Blazers have struggled in this one, falling behind 42-7 at half and 56-17 after three quarters. Dilfer coached high school ball at Lipscomb Academy (Tennessee) from 2019-2022 before heading to college in 2023 to lead the UAB program. This year's team struggled to beat Division I-FBS Alabama State (52-42) and a currently winless Akron team (31-28) that hasn't won more than four games in a season since 2017. Now UAB has dealt with a blowout loss to Tennessee, although that was expected on paper given the Volunteers' No.
