"Hangman" Adam Page defeated TNT champion Kyle Fletcher at All Out on Saturday to retain the AEW World Championship. Both Page and Fletcher entered All Out coming off impressive title defenses at Forbidden Door last month, as Fletcher beat New Japan Pro-Wrestling star Hiromu Takahashi and Page got the better of MJF. A few nights later on Collision, Fletcher was clearly emboldened by his victories at Forbidden Door and on Dynamite, so he laid down an AEW world title challenge to Hangman for All Out. Fletcher confronted Page after the match, as he was looking for an answer regarding his challenge, and Page was quick to accept under one specific condition. That shifted the focus toward a high-caliber world title match between two of the best in-ring performers in wrestling today rather than the antics of Don Callis and his stable.
