Noah Lyles blew past the competition on the anchor leg to bring a gold medal to the United States in the men's 4x100-meter relay at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo. The United States posted a time of 37.29 seconds, with Canada (37.55) and the Netherlands (37.81) rounding out the podium. Lyles rebounded in the 200 meters, beating Bednarek by 0.06 seconds for gold. With its strongest team on the track in the deciding race, a gold medal was the expectation for Team USA. The United States now has 16 golds and 26 total medals and will finish with a massive lead over Kenya, the next closest country with seven golds and 11 combined.
