Yes, trap and the discoish sound seem to be the pop sound hottest right now, if she wants to stay in the edm genre I'd recommend cutting out the choruses and bridges she jam-packs every song with and drift toward a classic house/deep house diva sound, something that looks to be the sound of the summer. Like this: Duke Dumont - I Got U(Radio 97 edit). It almost even sounds like her singing.
