The tennis ball from the final point of Carlos Alcaraz's U.S. Open final victory over Jannik Sinner sold for $88,900 at Sotheby's on Tuesday, per Matt Liberman of Clict.
That figure set a record for a tennis ball sold at a public auction.
Alcaraz earned the final point via an ace in a four-set victory: 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4.
The 22-year-old Alcaraz is now a six-time Grand Slam singles champion who has won two French Opens (2024, 2025), two Wimbledons (2023, 2024) and two U.S.
