Analysis: The dour economic figures released on Thursday have forced the Government onto the back foot, derailing Christopher Luxon's much-heralded year of economic growth and prompting a flurry of press releases about activity in the construction sector.
A week prior, Infrastructure Minister Chris Bishop had told Parliament that the construction sector was being scaffolded by the Government's investments in infrastructure and that some MPs just "need to look on the bright side of life".
