Google quantum Willow system (105 qubits superconducting chip with 100 ms coherence times) is error mitigation and improved coherence times. They improved coherence times by 5X. There is random sampling improvement but the random sampling is not a useful problem. The long lived logical qubits are needed to achieve truly useful quantum computers that will beat classical systems in many useful areas. Error correction is the key to truly useful quantum computers around 2029-2030.
