In recognition of Drowning Impact Awareness Month, Tucson Medical Center and the Tucson Jewish Community Center are partnering to host the annual Community Water Safety Day on Sunday, Aug. 24, from 1 to 4 p.m.
The free event, hosted at the Tucson J, is designed to promote water safety while providing an afternoon of fun for families.
Attendees can enjoy pool access, a live DJ, games, localvendors, and demonstrations focused on water and sun safety.
Drowning Impact Awareness Month began in August 2004 through an initiative by PhoenixChildren’s Hospital and is now the largest collaborative water safety effort in Arizona.
Once a child isin the water, it may be too late — but prevention is powerful, and awareness is free.
