The injuries were all non-life threatening and one of the injured was a Port Authority police officer, according to the New York Fire Department. New York Police Commissioner James O’Neill called the explosion a “terror-related incident”. He was injured as the low-tech device attached to his chest exploded in an underground passageway. US President Donald Trump was briefed about the explosion this morning, according to the White House.
