Mr. Hugh Hilton Todd was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on August 5, 2020. A former member of the Guyana Defence Force Coast Guard, Mr. Todd attended the Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, United Kingdom. Having left the army, Mr. Todd initiated and founded a partnership in a cable television company displaying his versality in entrepreneurial skills. Prior to assuming his responsibilities as Foreign Minister, Mr. Todd served at the University of Guyana. He was also a partner in a Think Tank which focused on law, international relations, defense and security.
