A private equity banker is being sued for allegedly secretly plotting to defect to a rival firm and taking his team with him. The court heard that on Jan 5 2024, Mr Wheeler emailed someone in HR to ask when two bonus payments would be made. The firm alleges that he then “forwarded his emails” so that “dates could be incorporated into the plan” to move to the rival firm. Mr Wheeler has yet to file a defence with the court.
