He is also the station manager at KUAA and a talent buyer for The DLC at Quarters, as well as a talented musician and DJ himself. Mcquivey says that working at SLUG has opened his eyes to so many more local bands, artists and events that he never would have known about before — just when he thought it was “Small Lake City.” Most recently, he conducted live recordings with dozens of local bands at SLUG’s 36th Anniversary Party, his favorite SLUG event because of the fun and chaotic concept of 36 local bands each playing one song.
