Comment on Parting Ways: A NATO Naval Strategy Without America by William Tate

Let's see now... the U.S. is an unreliable ally now because... NATO and the EU have been so steadfast in fulfilling their obligations under the NATO charter.
Heaven forbid the EU (with a larger population and total gross economic output amongst all members greater than the U.S.) actually fulfill the role of defending their own littorals and near seas.
The U.S. is on a fiscally absurd path, her navy is being sortied to the point that readiness is suffering.
One might imagine that the EU and European members of NATO would accept the responsibility that belongs squarely with them.
