As a visitor to the country one must be oblivious if you aren't seeing how locals live, compared to the tourist lifestyle and prices charged for everything. If I pay $14 (USD) for a burger, I would hope that much of the money goes to the people, but I am guessing . I see locals rarely in cars, walking, riding bicycles, motorcycles, etc, and living in modest housing. Even the grocery stores are expensive, and I cannot understand how people can afford to live there. Where do they eat!? I do hope these protests can shed some light on where the money is going in this country, and that Pura Vida can mean less corruption and a government that takes care of its people first!
