When Del Norte High senior Tanay Shah was 6 years old, he went to India with his parents to visit relatives. For example, STEMpathy members taught children about airplanes, bridges and architecture at the 4S Ranch, Poway and Rancho Peñasquitos libraries. “We are inspiring students by introducing them to new pathways through both long-term classes and workshops,” Shah said. Shah said he is mentoring younger Del Norte High students so they can continue STEMpathy after he, Atti and Withee graduate in June. One pathway the 4S Ranch resident expressed an interest in is mechanical engineering, but through the workshops Shah said he discovered he also has a love for teaching.
