The Ramona Youth Collaborative is planning an Oct. 4 charity dinner to support its goal of fostering belonging, creativity and hope among young people in the community. Kristie Grimaud, pastor of the Ramona United Methodist Church and the Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church. The Collaborative is the result of four local churches — First Congregational Church of Ramona, St. Mary’s-in-the-Valley, Ramona United Methodist and Spirit of Joy Lutheran — that got together in August to reach more young people. The Collaborative is a way for youth to feel safe to grow their faith in a different way, Grimaud said. “The group was formed because some youth may not have felt quite welcome at other places or churches,” she said.
