Police and the MSPCA removed 115 animals from a Plympton home on Tuesday as part of an animal cruelty investigation, according to police.
The investigation began Monday after the home’s owners contacted Plympton police with concerns about animals their tenants were keeping on their property, Plympton police said in a press release.
Officers conducted an initial investigation at the Lake Street home before referring the case to the department’s animal control officer and contacting the MSPCA for help with the investigation.
On Tuesday, the animal welfare nonprofit was granted a warrant to search the home and remove animals from the property, police said.
“Because the animals were seized as part of the warrant, they’ll be held pending the outcome of the investigation.
