So they turned to their rival and signed Mark Robinson from the New England Patriots practice squad on Tuesday. Because Robinson, a seventh-round 2022 Draft pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers, was elevated three times, the Patriots would have needed to sign him to their 53-man roster. But EPSN’s Mike Reiss noted that with Jahlani Tavai — who’s on injured reserve — eligible to return to practice next week and other practice squad elevation possibilities, the Patriots elected to keep the open roster spot.
