News Americas, KINGSTON, Jamaica, Tues. Sept. 23, 2025: Jamaican national Orville Etoria was deported to Eswatini by the Donald Trump administration. This week, Jamaica’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator Kamina Johnson Smith confirmed that Etoria was successfully repatriated to Jamaica. Jamaican immigrant Orville Etoria was sent to Africa – not Jamaica. He returned to the homeland he had left behind decades ago, on Monday, September 22nd, after weeks of sustained diplomatic engagement. The operation involved coordination between the Ministry’s headquarters, Jamaica’s High Commission in Pretoria – which is accredited to Eswatini, the Government of Eswatini, and the International Organization for Migration, (IOM).
