Don’t expect late-night comedian Jimmy Kimmel to apologize profusely when he returns to the airwaves tonight, said Peter White, executive editor of television for Deadline Hollywood. ABC parent company Disney announced his return in a Monday statement after he was suspended following a pressure campaign from Trump-appointed Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Brendan Carr. “When he gets on the air tonight. And when he came back, he just, ‘well, as I was saying,’ and I wonder if Jimmy Kimmel might do something similar,” White said. “I suspect he'll crack a gag or a joke at the top, and then he'll have probably an important message, but I would be very surprised if he apologizes.”
