Around 76 people accessed Cork Simon’s emergency shelter on Anderson’s Quay each night last year. The charity’s Annual Impact Report revealed the number of people in long-term homelessness increased by 18%. Speaking to RedFM News, Cork Simon CEO Dermot Kavanagh says the charity feels the impact as the homelessness crisis worsens each year:Advertisement"Our 76 people are all in shelter in Anderson's Quay and you know we would really be keen to scale that back, that's vital. The number of people entering homelessness is inreasing year on year and we're running trying to catch up with the numbers."
