Teacher banned after 'mocking' religion of pupils during lesson on honour killings

Mr Alex Lloyd, formerly of The Bishop of Winchester Academy, has been banned from teaching following the outcome of a teacher misconduct hearing from September 29 to October 1.
The pupil added that Mr Lloyd “targeted pupils during the lesson” and she could see other pupils were “visibly upset” because their religion had been “mocked”.
Mr Lloyd told two pupils that honour killings was "happening mainly because of [their] culture", and Pupil C stated that Mr Lloyd used Pupil A and Pupil B’s family members to “demonstrate what would happen if adultery was committed”.
"The panel noted that Mr Lloyd admitted all of the allegations in the statement of agreed Facts.
Deciding on an outcome, Sarah Buxcey decided Mr Lloyd will be prohibited from teaching indefinitely and cannot teach in any school, sixth form college, relevant youth accommodation or children’s home in England.
