Faith Eckersall, who worked as a reporter for the Echo for more than two decades, has signed a three-book deal with Embla Books, an imprint of Bonnier Books UK.
The Piddlington Gazette Mysteries series will follow Harry Hedges, a disgraced London journalist who relocates to the Dorset town of Piddlington Minster to work as the editor of the struggling Piddlington Gazette.
Faith Eckersall worked as a reporter for the Echo for 25 years before going freelance.
Martina Arzu, publishing director at Embla Books, said: "I can't wait for readers to discover Faith’s voice: warm, funny, and utterly engaging.
"The Piddlington Gazette Mysteries has all the ingredients of a truly delightful, funny and heartwarming cosy crime series."
